You might have noticed a new addition to the FULL-ACTION (BONUS) sheet today: the D4C column. This column essentially combines Column A with the new Titan (CDSP) algorithm, offering a comprehensive view of how each horse fares across these two important metrics. Horses scoring well on the D4C column should demonstrate strong performance in both Column A (Spd G. Total) and the Titan (CDSP) algorithm. I had the chance to test this feature yesterday (before my unfortunate bike accident last night!), and I was impressed with the results, so I'm excited to introduce it today.
You may recall this recent post:
When I applied the same method to the new D4C data column I was testing yesterday, the average score for the entire column was 60.51 (the average is 62.52 today, so it will vary from day to day). Then, after removing all the horses below this average, I recalculated the average for the remaining horses left on the D4C column, which came out to nearly 71.29. This left me with just 16 horses (with D4C scores above 71.29) from the original 79 listed on the FULL-ACTION (BONUS) sheet yesterday. Out of these 79, five were non-runners, and one was withdrawn. If I had backed all of the 73 remaining horses, I would have made a small profit of 3.31 points to Betfair SP yesterday. However, by backing only the 16 horses left on the D4C column after removing those below the identified average levels, I would have ended up with a satisfying overall profit of 22.62 points to Betfair SP (141.38% ROI). Notably, most of these points came from this winner, which paid out at 20.27 to Betfair SP.
Yesterday, out of a total of 16 horses selected using this technique, 5 emerged as winners.
It's worth noting how the method I recently explained here could have excluded this horse. At the final stage, I suggested potentially raising the cutoff for the Titan (CDSP) to 80. Initially, the cutoff, following the above-average technique, was set at 77.297. Therefore, Fandabidozi would have just exceeded this threshold in the Titan (CDSP) column with a score of 78. However, if you had followed the subsequent step and manually increased the cutoff to 80, you would have missed it.
