We enjoyed 7 winners out of 17 (41.2% strike rate) from horses scoring at least 9 out of 12 under column A of our FULL ACTION (BONUS) sheet yesterday. Here's the list of winners:
Yesterday's selections would have yielded a profit of 10.88 points at Betfair SP.
Reviewing the first column, you'll notice that the scores for the winners ranged between 9 and 11.5. Interestingly, there were 4 qualifiers with maximum scores of 12, but none of them emerged victorious.
If we adjusted the cutoff level for Column A to a minimum score of 9.25 (although this would have excluded Mr. Baloo, which won at 7/1 SP), it would have reduced the qualifiers to 15, resulting in 6 winners.
Raising the cutoff level to 9.5 reduced the qualifiers to 13, with 5 winners. Further increasing it to 10 decreased the qualifiers to 11, with 4 winners.
Given that none of the horses with maximum scores of 12 won, the optimal setup would have been filtering for horses scoring between 9 and 11.5 on Column A. This would have resulted in 7 winners from 13, yielding a profit of 14.88 points at Betfair SP.
Alternatively, filtering for horses scoring between 10 and 11.5 under Column A (Speed Grand Total) would have given 4 winners from 7, making it an ideal setup for a potential accumulator bet.
Yesterday, the higher scoring horses showed remarkable success on the all-weather tracks compared to the turf flat racing. Considering the flat season has just begun, this outcome isn't entirely unexpected as form tends to be less predictable early in the season. Focusing solely on horses with scores of at least 9 in the all-weather meetings, we would have enjoyed an outstanding 6 winners out of 8, resulting in a return of 16.2 points to Betfair SP (a return exceeding 200% ROI for the day).
